ABOUT THE POSITION

As Art Director/Designer for our Sportsman’s Guide business, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing brand design, digital user experience and digital assets (paid/social media) and consumer campaigns that drive the growth and visibility of our brand portfolio. You will be responsible for building and maintaining brand position/style to ensure creative consistency across all touchpoints, for upleveling the user experience of our web sites, and for bringing all marketing and content plans to life in visuals. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for design, and the ability to translate brand strategy into impactful creative executions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Work with Creative Director to ensure campaign and brand concepts come to life.
  • Work with creative designers, channel managers, developers, and stakeholders to align project goals and deliverables.
  • Lead the creative development process resulting in high-quality creative assets, campaigns, and content that are visually compelling and strategically aligned across all consumer touchpoints (site, email, sms, social, print, etc.)
  • Oversee the end-to-end creative process for given brand/sector from concept development to final execution.
  • Partner with UX Leader to create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Ensure all creative outputs meet brand standards and are aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Develop innovative design concepts that elevate our brand across all mediums
  • Stay informed on design trends, tools, and technologies to keep the brand fresh and competitive.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business objectives into creative strategies.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage workflows to meet deadlines and project requirements.
  • Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality output within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, freelancers, and vendors to augment internal capabilities when needed.
  • Address feedback constructively and adjust as necessary to meet project goals.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of creative campaigns and initiatives.
  • Regularly report on creative performance, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership & conduct regular reviews of creative work to ensure alignment with brand strategy and standards.
  • Conceptualize Photo/Video shoots with Photographer and Videographers
    • May require some on-location traveling for Photo / Video shoots

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, user experience, Fine Arts, or related accreditation.
  • 10+ years of experience in brand design, creative strategy/art direction, digital user experience or related roles.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in art direction, design, and creative production.
  • Exceptional skills in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc..) Knowledge of AI and emerging technology a plus. (Midjourney, Chat GPT, Gemini/Nano-Banana, Flux Koncept)  
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead creative teams.
  • Experience working with Photographers and Videographers to
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, UX/UI design, and emerging creative trends.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
