Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing QA/QC Program Manager to build and lead a scalable quality program that drives continuous improvement, operational excellence, and future ISO 9000 certification. This role will be responsible for integrating quality standards into all aspects of the manufacturing process, from standard work instructions to team development, and overseeing a growing team of QA/QC scope managers. This position will play a key role in elevating operational performance and supporting the company's regional expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Program Development: Develop and maintain a written Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9000 standards and best-in-class manufacturing practices.
  • Work Instruction Integration: Embed quality standards into manufacturing standard work instructions, visual training tools, and onboarding programs to ensure clarity and compliance from day one.
  • ISO 9000 Certification Roadmap: Lead the company's effort to achieve ISO 9000 certification, including gap assessments, internal audits, documentation, team training, and registrar coordination.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with production, engineering, and operational leaders to integrate quality checkpoints into daily workflows and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, develop, and manage a QA/QC inspection team and functional scope leads (fabrication, assembly, coatings, shipping) to support operations and ensure accountability.
  • Lean and 6S Integration: Apply Lean Manufacturing and 6S principles to reduce variability, drive root-cause analysis, and improve quality KPIs across multiple departments.
  • Regional Program Expansion: Design scalable QA/QC frameworks that support growth into new regions, maintaining consistency across sites.
  • Mentorship & Leadership Development: Initiate and maintain mentorship and training programs for junior leaders within the QA/QC function to ensure succession planning and leadership pipeline development.
  • Performance & KPI Systems: Develop quality dashboards, scoreboards, and real-time visual tools to track and communicate performance across departments and vendors.
  • Vendor Qualification and Audits: Develop vendor quality standards and guidelines that align with company requirements. Periodic audits on vendor quality programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or 7+ years' experience in manufacturing operations, QA/QC, or continuous improvement leadership roles.
  • Proven success leading ISO 9001 or other compliance standards in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 6S implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop SOPs, pass/fail standards, and quality tracking systems.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and coaching abilities.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience working with automated production and fulfillment systems.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
