Job Title- Part - Time Proofreader

Location- ST LOUIS, MO

Duration- 12 Month+ Contract

$30-35/Hour on W2 (Flexible)

  • This is a part-time role: 20 hours per week POSITION SUMMARY: This individual will be responsible for proofing consumer-targeted communication materials generated by the agency. Strong grammar skills, accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Positive, can-do attitude will contribute to key support role on an agency team. Additionally, the Proofreader will be proofreading packaging and other consumer collateral material. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for proofreading all content generated by the production/digital design group. Assures the following:
  • Accuracy against original approved copy
  • Proper grammar and spelling
  • Calls out variances from conventional treatments on typographic style
  • Correct size and type specifications
  • Correct placement of copy on layout
  • Proper use of trademarks
  • Verifies proper coupon codes, expiration dates, ingredient statements and legal mandatories are used.
  • Applies current Federal Trade Commission packaging requirements with regard to type and symbols.
  • Makes sure all documents are current with industry and legal standards.
  • Requires capable communication and good judgment when interacting with creative organization

(copywriters, art director, designers, account managers), client organization (Legal, Regulatory, Project Management, Marketing).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

Education: Bachelor's degree required. English major preferred.

Experience (Years/Type): Three plus years professional experience in proofreading, copywriting or editing creative content.

Agency experience Needed.

SKILLS:

  • Critical knowledge of spelling, editing, grammar.
  • Ability to read and process large volume of content accurately to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent organization skills, (clear and comprehensive record keeping, communication, process
  • improvement).
  • Ability to interface effectively with creative, client organization, including Legal and Regulatory, to secure right materials, and to get it right.
  • Knowledge of digital keyline process, Macintosh computers and Word processing programs.
  • Fastidious attention to detail.
