SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Business Analyst is responsible for planning, establishing, communicating, and monitoring various supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value to the operation, while building a competitive infrastructure around product flow, logistics, and information. Synchronizes supply with demand forecasting cross functionally with various business partners internally and externally, including C&S, and measuring performance to ensure maximized return for the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with Category Business Managers regarding promotional forecast around the strategy of product flow and demand for traditional and nontraditional movement of product ensuring accuracy and monitoring promotional results for future needs.
  • Using historical data and analysis to calculate bookings and forecast demand for weekly ad, seasonal items, special programs, etc.
  • Monitoring daily service level reports and communicating results to stores, executives, and corporate leadership daily, including weekends and holidays.
  • Collaborating closely with Category Business Managers/Merchandising, Promotions, Pricing, Planogram, Daymon, Warehouse, and Merchandising Systems Support to service stores and ensure flawless execution of company plans
  • Analyzing all relevant information to calculate distributions and ensure that product is properly allocated to stores, entering into distribution platform.
  • Maintaining positive business relationships with C&S and key vendor partners
  • Supporting category plans & objectives through weekly meetings with CBMs to ensure product availability & distribution needs are met
  • Communicating with warehouse to exchange information regarding receipts of purchasing orders, slotting discrepancies, store shortages, inventory control, etc.
  • Assist in monitoring cost/billing discrepancies
  • Collaborate with others to look long term and work towards solutions of driving supply chain costs and overall product costs down
  • Monitoring for excessive, close coded, and dead inventories to reduce shrink
  • Facilitating all logistics involved in seasonal and special programs
  • Developing & integrating key business process across the entire supply chain system that create greater value and cost savings. Collaborating with key stake holders to monitor and validate opportunities. Providing supply chain insights, information, and opportunities to Merchandising teams.
  • Managing product flow within the various departments while monitoring both supplier and C&S performance metrics for base and promotional product, new and discontinued items, as well as dated product to maximize profits.
  • Coordinating various work and product flow information in a cross functional approach with Category Business Manager, support staff, outside vendors and suppliers, C&S, and the stores to ensure proper product demand, flow, supply and minimized disruption to the business.
  • Monitoring inventory control metrics to acceptable levels while exploring areas of opportunity to increase product turn. Creating visibility and developing solutions to product supply opportunities, both at a shortage and overage level while maintaining service level to the stores.
  • Thinking strategically and long term to work towards solutions of driving supply chain costs down. Continuously look for opportunities to reduce handling, expenses and movement that will create value. Work with the Supply Chain Manager to share best practices across the company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solid understanding of retail business required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and planning & organizational skills; ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in a PC based environment (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills: self-starter, takes initiative, ability to work independently, and a problem solver with an opportunistic attitude
  • Ability to work cross functionally, speak well and confidently with suppliers, transportation, C&S, store leadership and management verbally and while presenting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree in an applicable field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a retail grocery department or buying experience preferred
