Job Description And Duties
Under the direction of the Classification & Parole Representative (C&PR), this position is responsible for conducting specialized program assignments. The Assistant C&PR provides population statistics to CIM Administration, Statewide Transportation Unit (STU), Population Management Unit (PMU) and the Classification Services Unit (CSU) and Division of Adult Parole Operations. This position is responsible for ordering CDCR bus seats for the CIM endorsed IPs, maintain a daily and weekly updated Advanced Transfer System report; update monitor and track all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Armstrong Disability Placement Program (DPP) and Clark Developmental Disability Placement (DDP), IPs in the Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS) when bus seats are requested, and when IPs are requiring expedited transfer. This position monitors Out to Court (OTC) returns, IPs arriving for OTC purposes. Intake IPs requiring DPP/DDP appropriate housing, Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) transfers, MCRP returns, enrouters, Courtesy Layovers, and Alternative Custody Placement returns.
Assist. C&PR position has the overall responsibility to ensure all IPs housed in the OHU Mental Health Crisis Bed (MHCB) are moved within the timeframes per Mental Health Services Delivery System, this is to include completion of re-directs when applicable. IPs being discharged from the Outpatient Housing Unit (OHU) as Outpatient (OP) shall be expedited in the transfer process to the correct level of care; arrange special transports for IPs requiring Department of State Hospital (DSH) placement from OHU and/or paroling to DSH and other special transports as required. Track and monitor CIM’s Restricted Housing Unit (RHU), to ensure IPs length of stay is following all RHU policies and procedures, by transferring IPs with MHSDS loc to the appropriate CCCMS-RHU Hub, and EOP RHU-Hub. Tracking and monitoring IPs endorsements requiring transfer to appropriate institutions. Reviewing the weekly Send/Intake Report to avoid inappropriate housing and overcrowding of IPs. Reviewing the lower bunk Exception Reports to ensure IPs are housed accordingly with housing restriction accommodations.
Assist the C&PR with Warden’s Checkout Orders. Respond to all written or telephone inquiries by judges, attorneys, probation officers, other Institutions and other interested parties relevant to program suitability, including IP family inquiries. The Assist. C&PR will have the overall responsibility of monitoring and tracking send and intake for the institution. To ensure all movement of IPs is occurring appropriately and consistent with the IPs custody, level, and medical needs. Ensure all expedited transfers are moved within the allotted timeframe by the legal parameters and note the reason if an IP is not able to transfer within those time frames.
In addition, this position will assist the Offender with Mental Health Disorder (OMHD) /Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) and Board of Parole Hearing Process. Assistant C&PR with serving OMHD documents, reviewing cases for OMHD criteria, reviewing cases for SVP purposes, OMHD/SVP tracking, Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) issues, VITEK hearings, etc. Coordinate interviews with DSH Doctors. In the absence of the C&PR this position will attend C&PR meetings, committees, conference calls, monitor records area, disseminate information, review Warden Checkout Orders, etc. The CCII Specialist will assist the C&PR with all other duties as assigned.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
