Job Description

Learning and Development Professional - Open to hiring at the Associate, Consultant, or Senior Consultant Level

We’re seeking a Learning and Development professional to design, deliver, and continuously improve training that supports Wellmark Operations and broader enterprise needs. Depending on experience and level, responsibilities may include facilitating classroom and virtual learning, maintaining and enhancing existing training materials, and developing new content to meet evolving business goals.

You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training is relevant, measurable, and impactful—using a variety of delivery methods and tools. You may also represent Learning and Development on project teams, provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues and Operations staff, and analyze and monitor new training requests to align learning efforts with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a SAFe Agile Product Centric Environment
  • Experience using Learning & Development (L&D) authoring tools and templates to design and develop training materials
  • Experience working with leaders and teams in a cross-functional/matrixed environment
  • Health Insurance contact center business acumen

Required for Learning & Development Associate:

  • Associate's Degree or direct and applicable work experience
  • 1+ years of experience designing, developing and facilitating group training to include alternative delivery methods such as face-to-face and/or e-learning.
  • Ability to translate technical information and processes into easy-to-understand training presentations and documentation.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines to achieve positive business results promoting the customer experience.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with others to create new ideas and improve current processes.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and modify communications and/or training to groups of various sizes.
  • Takes prompt action to accomplish objectives; takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required and focuses on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them.
  • Proven project and process management skills including attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work environment and to generate innovative solutions.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Travel required between 10-20%.

Learning & Development Consultant - Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of related work experience including:
  • Experience designing, developing and facilitating group training to include alternative delivery methods such as face-to-face and/or e-learning.

Senior Learning & Development Consultant - Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or direct and applicable work experience
  • 5+ years’ demonstrated experience delivering trainings; coordination and execution of training plans.
  • Prior coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Ability to lead work teams without direct authority.

Additional Information

  • Delivers and coordinates classroom and online-based trainings to meet the needs of Operations. Work with other Trainers and/or external vendors on course content to ensure objectives and outcomes are met, content is relevant to audience and training sessions are delivered timely, effectively and within budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify appropriate resources and/or training aids to meet the needs of Operations. Assist in the design and development of course materials as appropriate, including on-line training courses, webinars, and conference calls, to meet just-in-time training needs. Collaborate with Team Leaders to coordinate and facilitate the on-boarding of all new Operations team members and tailor the material based on the market segment
  • Proactively maintain and update training materials, including guidelines and online documentation, for content and any necessary design changes. Will work with multiple applications to customize trainings. Coordinates and tracks training delivered to staff. Coordinates and /or maintains training materials, supplies and internal/external facilities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of program(s)/course design and delivery through classroom/web interaction. Coordinate and track survey responses and work to continually improve training offerings based on feedback.
  • As needed, may participate in and/or facilitate internal work groups or projects with Wellmark employees from Operations or from other divisions.
  • Ensure the successful onboarding and continued development of Operations staff. Will coach and mentor new Operations staff (e.g. Customer Experience, Claims, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
