Essential Functions and Duties

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, data engineers, solution architects, and BI developers to elicit, define, and refine comprehensive business and technical requirements for diverse, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Translate complex business challenges into scalable, future-ready technology and data solutions, encompassing enterprise applications, integration pipelines, curated data layers, and advanced analytical models.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), process flows, source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and detailed test scripts to ensure clarity, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, and risks within requirements early in the lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, governance standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Facilitate continuous refinement of requirements through iterative feedback loops, incorporating input from cross-functional teams to support Agile planning and solution delivery.

Product Ownership & Agile Leadership:

  • Serve as a proxy Product Owner, defining scope, writing epics and user stories, and prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, stakeholder impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Act as Scrum Master/Agile Lead, facilitating sprint ceremonies (planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to promote transparency and accountability, while tracking velocity and delivery performance in Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Partner with IT leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to refine product roadmaps, manage backlogs, and align release planning with organizational objectives and resource capacity.
  • Champion Agile best practices and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of iterative development, stakeholder collaboration, and adaptive planning to maximize delivery outcomes.
  • Identify delivery risks and dependencies early in the lifecycle, providing data-driven recommendations to maintain scope, timeline, and quality alignment.

Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Validation:

  • Lead discovery workshops and requirements sessions with stakeholders across finance, operations, supply chain, commercial, and other enterprise functions to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and success criteria.
  • Act as a trusted liaison between business and technical teams, translating stakeholder needs into actionable requirements while managing expectations and fostering collaborative decision-making.
  • Coordinate and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data testing, and quality assurance efforts, ensuring that deliverables meet defined business objectives, compliance standards, and performance benchmarks.
  • Develop structured test plans and acceptance criteria to validate solution readiness, while proactively addressing gaps, risks, and issues identified during testing cycles.
  • Drive organizational adoption of data-driven solutions by supporting change management initiatives, developing clear communication strategies, and promoting self-service enablement tools that empower stakeholders to leverage insights effectively.
  • Monitor post-implementation feedback to measure adoption and effectiveness, providing recommendations for continuous improvement and future enhancements.

Compliance, Governance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, federal and state regulations, data governance protocols, and security standards, safeguarding organizational integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system, data, and process issues by leveraging SQL, reporting tools, and system logs to support root cause analysis, incident resolution, and continuous quality improvements.
  • Drive platform maturity and scalability by advocating for and implementing best practices in data governance, quality frameworks, and metadata management, ensuring sustainable growth and consistent data integrity across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and IT leadership teams to align processes and controls with emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards.
