About The Role

An established, state-of-the-art skilled nursing care facility in Queens is seeking a Director of Therapeutic Recreation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing therapeutic activity programs that meet the needs and interests of residents in alignment with their comprehensive care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement programs of therapeutic activities to enhance residents' quality of life.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to therapeutic recreation services.
• Participate in resident assessments, discharge planning, and care plan development.
• Involve residents and families in activity planning where appropriate.
• Provide consultation and collaborate with staff and community partners to meet residents' needs.
• Participate in various facility committees (e.g., Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Quality Assurance, etc.).
• Conduct preliminary and comprehensive assessments of residents' activity needs and develop individualized care plans.
  
  

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related healthcare setting.
