The Learn Academy is looking for a Part-Time fully licensed or Intern Mental Health Therapist for our location in Redwood City, CA.
The Learn Academy, "formerly Creative Learning Center", is a state-certified, K-12 private day school in California for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurological disorders.
Our comprehensive services — available across the South Bay, Peninsula, and San Francisco Bay Area — are designed to meet the unique needs of the whole student. We are a division of the LEARN Academy, a national leader in special education, academic intervention, and behavioral services for autism.

The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for
- DIS Counseling Provide counseling focused on social/emotional issues impacting academic progress, long-term goals, and independent living skills.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation by updating quarterly progress reports, creating individualized IEP goals, and keeping detailed session notes to track client progress and ensure compliance with program standards.
- Crisis Intervention Offer support for high-risk students during crisis situations and help develop and implement safety plans.
- Consultation/Referral Collaborate with school staff, families, and outside professionals to address school-related problems, participate in IEP meetings, coordinate parent meetings, and make referrals to community resources.
- Developmental/Preventative Guidance Provide guidance for students to support developmental and preventative care.
- Curriculum Integration Support educational staff in incorporating counseling elements into curricula and community activities.
- Must be licensed as an MFT, LCSW or PPS Credential.
- Strong communication skills in working with adolescents, staff, families, and public.
- Knowledge of school-based and community resources, particularly in mental health, social services, and education.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
