Summary

observations, data-informed instructional coaching, professional development facilitation, and collaboration with school
and community partners. The PreK Instructional Coach plays a key role in implementing curriculum, assessments, and TEA
requirements to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes.
Duties
- Serve as a supervising teacher in alignment with HB 2729, ensuring program compliance while supporting
development.
- Conduct regular classroom visits to coach teachers and provide constructive feedback through a reflective
- Deliver timely and actionable feedback to teaching staff based on observations and the reflective cycle, and
- Maintain accurate records of coaching visits, including documentation of the reflective coaching cycle.
- Guide teachers in the effective use of assessments, including data interpretation and the integration of results into
- Model developmentally appropriate instructional practices and facilitate PLC (Professional Learning Community)
tools, performance-based assessments, and program evaluation data.
- Develop weekly lesson plans that align with the program calendar, Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines, and
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), academic partners, child
- Support student registration and attendance processes as needed.
- Complete all required programmatic reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality early childhood education, including curriculum implementation and
- Build educators’ understanding of Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements to ensure compliance and best
- Promote program quality through classroom observations, needs assessments, and collaborative planning for
- Participate in and help plan professional development activities to meet state training requirements and support
- Contribute to the ongoing advancement of the Pre-K curriculum and instructional practices.
- Support a robust system of classroom coaching and professional development aligned with TEA guidelines.
- Implement and support a classroom quality system using CLASS and other external assessments to inform
- Analyze and utilize student outcome data to inform instructional strategies, strengthen partnerships, and align with
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support program goals and educational excellence
- Must be appropriately certified to teach prekindergarten in Texas and have one of the following additional
- An associate or baccalaureate degree in ECE, Special Education-ECE or a non-ECE degree with 15 units of
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or another early childhood education credential
- Documented completion of the Texas School Ready Training Program (TSR Comprehensive)
- Certification offered through a training center accredited by Association Montessori Internationale or
- At least eight years’ experience of teaching in a nationally accredited child care program or a Texas Rising
- Has completed 150 hours of professional development in ECE-specific topics over a consecutive five-year
- An equivalent qualification
- Texas certification for English as a second language supplemental;
- Three years of previous classroom experience teaching preschool children;
- Experience in implementing developmentally appropriate preschool curricula;
- Knowledge of Federal and State requirements for prekindergarten including Texas Education Agency, Child Care
- Computer proficiency and current technological skills are required;
- Strong time management, organization, decision making, and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Exhibits ability to be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to track and utilize data to improve outcomes;
- Reliable, insured vehicle for work-related transportation.
