The Viper Land Technician I supports the administration of mineral and royalty interests, focusing on efficient land documentation and partner communications. This role assists Landmen in preparing contracts, oil and gas leases, assignments, and other documents specific to Viper’s asset portfolio and business development strategy. The Technician will review invoices, code to appropriate AFE, and circulate for approvals. The position also prepares and submits proposal letters to mineral and royalty owners and responds to partner submittals. The Technician collaborates across Land, Accounting, Reservoir, and Geology teams, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient land processes.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare general, routine correspondence for others’ signature, tailored to Viper’s mineral and royalty interests.
  • Assist Landmen in preparation of contracts, oil and gas leases, assignments, and other documents relevant to Viper’s operations.
  • Review invoices, code to appropriate AFE, and circulate for approvals.
  • Prepare and submit proposal letters to mineral and royalty owners.
  • Work across company disciplines including Land, Accounting, Reservoir, and Geology.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of industry experience in land, mineral/royalty management, or related field.
  • Experience with land management systems (e.g., Quorum,)
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas practices and policies, with an ability to apply that knowledge to Viper’s work.
  • Basic research skills for reviewing multiple data sources, and targeting specific data
  • Proven ability to identify and escalate potential issues in daily work.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
