We are seeking an seasoned Senior Roadway Project Manager to join PRIME AE’s Transportation Team and lead the design and delivery of impactful roadway projects.
What You'll Do:
This role offers the opportunity to shape urban and rural highways, interchanges, and intersections across Ohio, working on ODOT, city, and county projects that improve mobility and strengthen communities.
As a licensed PE with 10+ years of highway design and project management experience, you’ll oversee project scope, budgets, and schedules while providing quality control and technical leadership. You’ll mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-state transportation teams, and engage directly with clients to win and deliver high-profile projects. This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise will directly advance PRIME AE’s mission of making a positive difference through engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the pursuit and delivery of ODOT, city, and county roadway and transportation projects.
- Develop scopes of work, fee proposals, project budgets, and schedules.
- Manage project financials, track progress, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Oversee and provide quality control for roadway, highway, and interchange design, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Perform and review design computations for urban and rural highways, interchanges, intersections, traffic management, and ADA-compliant infrastructure.
- Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and cross-discipline teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Mentor and develop junior and entry-level engineers, fostering growth in technical and project management skills.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations, and maintain strong client relationships through regular interaction.
- Represent PRIME AE at industry meetings and professional associations, supporting business development and raising the firm’s visibility in the transportation sector.
- BSCE required
- Active PE registration is required.
- 10+ years’ progressive experience in a combination of highway design and project management responsibilities.
- Preliminary and Final design experience with ODOT projects, specifications and guidelines preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using Civil 3D, OpenRoad Designer, and roadway design software is a plus.
- Working knowledge and working experience of all programs supported by MS Office required, including MS Project is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with AASHTO Policy’s and Guidelines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
