Overview

As a member of Savant’s Tax Strategy Team, the Senior Tax Strategist helps develop and execute advanced tax strategies for high-net-worth clients, families, and business owners. This role provides the technical expertise and analytical insight that fuel our integrated wealth management approach.

In this position, you’ll work closely with senior tax advisors to research complex tax topics, model potential outcomes, and prepare clear, actionable recommendations. While primarily focused on technical analysis, this role also offers the chance to collaborate directly with clients and advisors to help bring strategy to life.

What You’ll Do

• Gather, organize, and review client tax and financial data — including tax returns, financial statements, and planning documents — to support strategic planning.
• Prepare and review tax deliverables, including projections, summaries, and tax impact analyses.
• Research federal and state tax issues, transactions, and planning opportunities; summarize findings for clients and internal teams.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide training or guidance as needed.
• Prepare moderately complex individual, trust, partnership, foundation, and corporate tax returns when required.
• Assist in analyzing IRS and state notices, draft responses, and coordinate issue resolution.
• Collaborate with advisors and planning specialists to integrate tax strategies into comprehensive financial plans.
• Maintain accurate tracking of projects and deliverables while ensuring deadlines are met.
• Contribute to improving internal processes, documentation, and team training.
• Support creation of educational content and materials for clients or advisors.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (required)
• Credentials: Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred (or in progress); CFP certification a plus
• Experience:
• 4–7 years of experience in tax planning required
• Experience with individual, trust, partnership, foundation, and corporate returns preferred
• Familiarity with high-net-worth clients and related tax considerations
• Comfort using tax research tools and technology
• Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

The Perks

At Savant, we are committed to supporting our employees as well as investing in their well-being and growth. We take a market-based approach to compensation. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $77,000 - $112,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits.
