The Project Manager (PM) will play a key role in Astrana’s growth strategy and be instrumental in leading our system integration and implementation efforts as well as being a critical stakeholder by actively supporting other operational initiatives and special projects. S/he will be responsible for building relationships with key market leaders and understanding our strategic moves in each of the markets and working with department leaders, team and Ops departments to plan and execute on the activities and implement solutions. S/he will help develop plans for system integration and other special projects and help with all planning and execution of projects as assigned by the Group Vice President, Director, and/or other upstream Senior Leaders of the organization.
Project assignments will consist of highly complex initiatives and will involve a diverse set of components with cross functional departments. Projects cover a variety of operational initiatives including growth in new markets, payor contract launches/conversions, new service line implementations, government/regulatory approval/compliances and other special projects. In this role, the PM will partner and collaborate with all related stakeholders to achieve project goals and while doing that, also document process/playbooks for future efficiency and focus on improvement strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
The successful PM must be able to quickly adapt to projects of different size and complexity, able to plan, develop, organize, monitor, risk mitigate and successfully integrate assigned projects by utilizing best practice project management techniques.
What You'll Do
- Initiate the planning process, kick-off and have thorough understanding of all project elements and lead/build integration planning and drive initiatives to bring results on multiple initiatives simultaneously across multiple locations manage the entire integration.
- Partners with COO, GVP and other leadership to execute strategic and operational initiatives that will drive towards key business objectives and long-range plans. Be conscious and supportive of the high visibility job
- Create and set detailed project plan with clear steps and timeline, milestones, assign owners in collaboration with them or their leaders, monitor and track status of all integration initiatives and escalate timely as needed to keep with set timelines
- Robust communication with stakeholders at all levels. Develop clear presentations to be able to share key information on these initiatives. Presentations will be for both executives and other audiences.
- Identify risks and issues and proactively conduct follow-up on off-track/lagging projects
and tasks and manage issues, escalate as needed, actively focusing on resolving issues and mitigate risks. - Change management on these initiatives and the ability to conduct business assessments and solutioning with business and communication effectively with all related stakeholders.
- Process mapping and improvements so that growth can be sustainable
- Understand our business and operations adequately to become trusted partner with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop process, tools for tracking project regular status and help standardize across the portfolio.
- Introduce efficiency, measure applicable KPI’s and other leading indicators to ensure achievement of department goals.
- Establish and execute post-implementation/transition plans so there is a clean “hand off” to the appropriate operational owners to manage with appropriate resources and support
- Continuously review integration processes and plans and perform “post-mortems” or other similar activities as appropriate and make recommendations for areas of improvement to the leadership team
- Manage any special and/or ad-hoc projects related to corporate development, operations and/or another strategic initiative
- Demonstrate and maintain a successful track record of managing end-to-end integrations or strategic implementations and initiatives. This individual must unquestionably be highly organized, process-oriented, and self-motivated.

executives, department leaders and functional staff associated with assigned projects

- Help align resources in the department with the value we are bringing to the organization and motivate them towards the common goal that aligns with the organization’s vision and strategy.
- Positive impact to Astrana Health team and client experience with implementation projects measured indirectly and directly via team-member engagement, post-integration surveys, and 360-degree team feedback
- Continual improvement on Integration toolkits, systems, and processes measured directly by iteration of specific tools (project plans, RAID log, Process flows, other useful templates), processes (meetings, minutes, feedback gathering), and systems (knowledge management, project planning, communication)
- Contribution to positive work environment and culture at Astrana Health measured by Integration team-member engagement, productivity, and growth
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, public health or related field. Master’s degree preferred
- PMP certification is desired but not required.
- 5+ years’ experience in project management, Healthcare operations, MSO Operations or related fields leading large scale M&A projects. RKK experience preferred.
- Ability to independently understand, lead, drive, oversee, coordinate across all assigned projects and communicate clearly on multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Effective leadership skills, ability to guide and motivate team
- Proved track record of success with the ability to successfully deliver in complex environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Project Management Tools
- Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where the expectation is to work both in the office and at home on a weekly basis. The office is located at 1600 Corporate Center Drive Monterey Park, CA 91754
- The total compensation target pay range for this role is between $110,000 - $130,000. This salary expectation represents our national target range for this role.
