Purpose
The Air Flow Inspector ensures that machined and cast components meet precise airflow specifications critical to aerospace and industrial performance standards. This role is responsible for performing airflow testing, recording results, and ensuring parts comply with customer, FAA, ITAR, and AS9100 quality requirements. By verifying that products meet strict tolerance and regulatory standards, the Air Flow Inspector supports safe and reliable operation of aircraft and other engineered systems.
Essential Job Functions
Engineering Projects & Process Support
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.

Essential Job Functions
Engineering Projects & Process Support
- Apply principles learned in school to hands-on projects in process and product design.
- Support process improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, and efficiency projects across departments.
- Conduct analysis, testing, and documentation of existing processes and recommend improvements.
- Work directly with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams on new product development, line extensions, and product enhancements.
- Participate in training sessions, symposiums, and educational opportunities offered by PCC.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and contribute to team deliverables in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Assist with systems analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation.
- Help identify process improvements to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support projects focused on reliability, productivity, and quality improvement.
- This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager
- Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering program (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical/Materials Engineering strongly preferred).
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior academic standing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply academic knowledge to practical manufacturing challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Initiative-taking, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Ability to sit, stand, and perform computer or lab work for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
