Airport Duty Supervisor at City of Dayton

Responsibilities
The Airport Duty Supervisor serves as a management representative in supervising all aspects of Dayton International Airport operations in the absence of other management staff. Responsibilities include coordinating daily airport and regulatory compliance activities; addressing customer complaints and resolving problems, maintaining safe and secure facilities. The incumbent must maintain thorough knowledge of federal, state and local regulations as they apply to airports, administrative policies and procedures, standard operating guidelines/procedures, and retain the ability to read and interpret construction plans.
The Airport Duty Supervisor has knowledge of FAA/TSA regulations concerning certification and operations of a commercial airport including maintenance of the Airport Certification Manual; Airport Security Program requirements; OSHA Regulations; and assist in preparation for the annual FAA Certification Inspection. Enforces airport ordinances and FAA regulations applicable to Airport users, tenants, contractors and the public.
The incumbent also implements wildlife control procedures and ensures compliance with the airport’s wildlife Hazard Management Plan and applicable Federal and State regulations. Monitors airfield temperature and conditions; monitors winter weather conditions to coordinate snow removal operations of all runways, taxiways, apron areas, parking lots and roadway systems, and issues appropriate field condition status in accordance with federal regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the following:
Associate's degree in a related field to the area of assignment AND 5 years of progressive experience at a Part 139 certificated commercial Airport; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Airport Management, Engineering, or related field AND 1 year of experience in Airport Operations.
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.
License Requirements
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to employment. All candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including current city employees seeking transfer, promotion, demotion, etc. into a classified position.
Police and U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) fingerprint and background investigations are required to work at the Dayton International Airport.
Medical Examination & Drug and Nicotine Testing
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen. Applicants offered employment with the City will be required to pass a nicotine screening. Newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free as a condition of continued employment. The Tobacco and Nicotine Free Hiring Policy does not apply to current City employees.
