We seek a dynamic individual to become the Behavioral Health Clinician I for the unit. This position provides counseling services to individuals using a combination of therapeutic and recreational interventions.
All applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, background check and TB test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conducted patient assessments and obtained all relevant information. Places into appropriate levels of care.
Conducts group, family, and individual counseling sessions. May conduct psycho-educational or family groups.
Administers assessments to evaluate patients' needs.
Complete documentation promptly in accordance with CTP clinical procedures.
Regularly reports patient progress to the Supervisor.
Coordinates and refers to supportive services in the community to supplement treatment and counseling.
Must travel to outlying sites to train and treat the patient.
May maintain an OTP caseload and conduct annual updates for CCAR, DACODS, and others.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A
Qualifications
Education:
HS Diploma or BA with a CAS Certification.
Master's degree in sociology, human services, or a related field. Must obtain CAS certification within 18 months of the hire date.
Experience
Minimum of two years working in the behavioral health field.
Previous substance misuse treatment experience and expertise with trauma preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
Other
Familiarity with the ASAM level of care criteria is preferred but not required.
Solid communication skills.
Proficient Computer Skills Are Required, Including Electronic Records.
CPR and First-Aid certification (the agency pays for initial training and renewals).
Valid driver's license and insurability.
Physical Demands
Must be able to assist other employees in moving patients. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and drive for long periods. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Environment
A combination of office and clinical settings with a high degree of patient interaction.
