Position Summary
The Vice President of Resort Operations, also known as the General Manager, serves as the strategic and operational leader of Southall Farm & Inn. This role ensures the seamless integration of hospitality and guest experience, driving excellence across all operational departments while nurturing the culture and values that define Southall.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President / General Manager is responsible for the performance, alignment, and leadership of all guest-facing and operational functions, ensuring an exceptional and authentic Southall experience at every touchpoint.

Core Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Champion the Southall guest experience across all departments, ensuring each touchpoint reflects our purpose, values, and brand promise.
- Lead the design and delivery of service standards that exceed expectations through authenticity, empathy, and excellence.
- Monitor guest feedback, reputation metrics, and performance data to drive continuous improvement and consistency.
- Oversee daily operations of the Rooms Division, ensuring warm, efficient, and detail-oriented service.
- Partner with department heads to uphold standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort reflective of Southall’s luxury and farmstead aesthetic.
- Drive operational efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of personalized service.
- Oversee reservations and concierge services ensuring a seamless and responsive booking experience that aligns with brand tone and guest expectations.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to optimize inventory management and guest conversion.
- Oversee retail strategy and merchandising across outlets, ensuring products reflect Southall’s story, artisans, and connection to the land.
- Partner with marketing to align retail experiences with guest journeys and brand storytelling.
- Guide the holistic wellness philosophy that connects spa, nature, and guest rejuvenation.
- Ensure service offerings, environments, and experiences reflect Southall’s ethos of well-being
- Ensure Southall’s culinary operations—restaurants, bars, banquets, pool and in-room dining—consistently express our commitment to farm-driven, elevated hospitality.
- Partner with culinary leadership to maintain quality, innovation, and financial performance.
- Support alignment between kitchen and service teams for exceptional guest experiences.
- Lead the event planning and execution process for weddings, social gatherings, and corporate retreats.
- Ensure seamless coordination across departments to deliver meaningful, memorable experiences.
- Collaborate with farm leadership to integrate the agricultural story and landscape into the guest experience.
- Promote sustainable farming practices and ensure farm operations support the broader mission of the resort.
- Oversee property maintenance, infrastructure, and safety programs to protect the integrity and longevity of Southall’s assets.
- Ensure a proactive approach to guest and team member safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility.
- Provide strategic oversight to the sales function, aligning revenue generation with brand positioning and guest segmentation.
- Partner with marketing to ensure cohesive storytelling and experience-driven selling across channels.
- Serve as the cultural ambassador for Southall’s values—Learn with Humility, Plan with Purpose, Act with Intention.
- Lead and develop a diverse, empowered, and collaborative senior leadership team.
- Inspire operational excellence through mentorship, accountability, and recognition.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, integrity, and hospitality that extends to every guest and team member interaction.
- Develop and manage operating budgets, ensuring strong financial performance and cost stewardship.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for operational optimization and revenue growth.
- Partner with CEO and executive leadership to set and execute strategic priorities aligned with Southall’s long-term vision.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality, resort, or destination operations; multi-disciplinary resort and 5-star experience preferred.
- Proven track record of leading diverse teams with excellence, emotional intelligence, and strategic clarity.
- Deep understanding of service culture, guest experience design, and operational performance metrics.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-departmental budgets and capital planning.
- Passion for sustainability, agriculture, and experiential hospitality.
- Exceptional communication, presence, and leadership integrity.
