Description
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a CDL Training Coordinator in Montgomery, AL. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of fleet-related training and maintenance programs to include driver training as the LifeSouth CDL Instructor at the CDL school in Montgomery, Alabama. This position will be an integral part in developing driver training programs and procedures.

- Act as primary instructor for employees for the LifeSouth CDL School
- Act as the LifeSouth CDL School representative to Federal Motor Carriers Administration (FMCA) /Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Stay up to date on regulations, requirements, and upcoming changes for CDL drivers and training
- Perform all related tasks for Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) and Training Provider Registry (TPR) to continue LifeSouth Driver Training Program
- Meet all requirements and remain eligible to provide ELDT for LifeSouth students and eligible on FMCA-TPR
- Maintain in-house CDL driver training program including compliance with recordkeeping requirements
- Responsible for continual improvement of bloodmobile training and administering training program
- Assist department in regular fleet inspections
- Troubleshoot and assist with fleet maintenance
- Communicate with fleet maintenance vendors to ensure proper level of service
- Oversee fleet’s vendors and supplies including, but not limited to:
- Administer and monitor contracts for compliance and cost control
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards
- Evaluate preventive maintenance programs and suggest modifications to programs to increase efficiency, service, and effectiveness
- Collaborate with Corporate Fleet Coordinator to support network as needed
- Must have consistent and reliable transportation
- Attendance is a requirement of this position
- Must be willing to travel
- High school diploma or GED
- Must hold a Class B or Class A CDL
- Minimum of two years of CDL driving experience.
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively
- Ability to maintain records in an organized fashion.
- Must be able to multitask and organize and prioritize own work schedule.
- Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance and DOT inspection requirements
- Knowledge of Commercial Driver License (CDL) requirements
- Ability to proficiently train employees in driver safety procedures and CDL requirements in preparation for state CDL testing
- Interact professionally with all customers, both external and internal.
- Valid driver’s license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements
- Examining, re-evaluating, developing, and implementing operation procedures, policies, and strategies
- Organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Training or supervising commercial drivers
- Database management
- Evaluating service delivery by vendors and contractors
