Summary/Objective
The Intake Mental Health Technician is responsible for all paperwork required for admission to Behavioral Health. Under the direction of the RN Supervisor, this position conducts contraband and body visual searches to ensure all patients and staff remain safe.

Summary/Objective
The Intake Mental Health Technician is responsible for all paperwork required for admission to Behavioral Health. Under the direction of the RN Supervisor, this position conducts contraband and body visual searches to ensure all patients and staff remain safe.
Essential Job Duties

- Provides care to patients in the intake department under the direction of the Supervisor and in compliance with patient care standards.
- Performs body and contraband searches that follow the Texas Administrative Law to ensure that all patients remain safe during their stay at Behavioral Health.
- Completes all paperwork that is required for admission to Behavioral Health, to include consents, belongings inventory, and court paperwork.
- Communicates and interacts effectively with patients, their families, and all visitors demonstrating excellent customer service practices and proper phone etiquette.
- Ensures the intake department is always in compliance with HIPPA standards and Infection Control Standards. To include a clean environment, refrigerator logs up to date, and supplies not expired.
- Performs all admission and discharging processes regarding Visible Hands. To include, registering into the system, discharging from system at discharge, running reports, cleaning of beacons at discharge, and monitoring of patient while they remain in the intake department.
