The Technician I, Quality Assurance role is responsible for ensuring our products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This is a 2nd shift role, working 200pm - 1030pm Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend coverage required.

  • Food service or quality control experience a plus
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams
  • Able to access all areas of the plant and warehouse via stairs, ladders, uneven surfaces and wet conditions
  • Ability to compare and contrast products with meat, fish and shellfish ingredients for aroma, color and flavor with other products and control samples
  • Ability to take direction from more senior QA technicians
  • Available for weekend and holiday rotation
  • Ability to work alone for extended periods
  • Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility and teamwork mindset
  • Ability to enforce and follow food safety, safety and general Good Manufacturing Practices as defined by company policies
  • Able to handle multiple projects and daily activities within timelines and with urgency
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to access all areas of the plant including those requiring access via stairs and ladders
  • Conduct daily product testing using various basic food chemistry laboratory equipment and keep complete records
  • Set up daily sensory for the previous day’s production
  • Support production start up activities throughout the production day
  • Record and manage all data obtained from product and ingredient testing
  • Conduct daily laboratory equipment calibrations
  • Execute various internal audits as assigned by the QA Manager
  • Approve labels for production teams
  • Maintain allergen claim testing program
  • Send out customer COAs as requested daily by supply chain
  • Prepare and ship samples for outside testing daily
  • Maintain weekly air and surface testing
  • Maintain ingredient testing program - sensory testing, extensions and inventory adjustments with warehouse team
  • Maintain clean, organized laboratory and work environment
  • Adhere to all safety standards
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures
  • Support company initiatives and goals as assigned
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and complicated systems
  • Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be available for weekend and holiday rotation production coverage
  • Obtain Seafood HACCP certification and Better Process Control Certification in the 1st year of employment
  • Other duties as assigned by QA Manager


$48,000-$55,000 per year
