Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Systems Administrator, the Software Information Technology Intern is responsible for providing onsite assistance to users of the Allegheny County Treasurer’s Office with resolutions to their software problems, assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of Treasurer’s Office software, assisting the Treasurer’s IT team with documentation, and recording the process through the usage of IT tickets. This is a temporary position, requiring 30-40 hours per week for a duration of six (6) months.

- Currently enrolled or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- Provides timely resolutions to Treasurer user issues.
- Troubleshoots problems in a step-by-step manner.
- Documents all pertinent IT information on these issues.
- Assists in development and testing of in-house software.
- Reviews and update IT documentation.
- Identifies potential improvements and recommend changes to IT documentation.
- Provides Tier 1 IT support.
- Performs other project duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Windows Operating Systems
- Basic software coding principles
- DevOps tools and practices
- Basic coding/scripting
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Troubleshoot IT issues
- Provide detailed descriptions of IT issues
- Engage in a team-based setting to work on IT projects under supervision
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of networking, software, and operating systems.
- Display strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and listening skills.
