Primary Purpose
Kinder Morgan is currently seeking an Operations/Maintenance Supervisor. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the field with emphasis on Gas Treating, Dehydration and the rotating equipment systems.

Primary Purpose
Kinder Morgan is currently seeking an Operations/Maintenance Supervisor. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the field with emphasis on Gas Treating, Dehydration and the rotating equipment systems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee subordinates and verify improvement in: preventative maintenance program, development of employees, efficient operations, and equipment reliability.
- Provide technical leadership to the maintenance group.
- Prepare reliability plans for critical equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring that preventive maintenance activities are performed as scheduled.
- Responsible for ensuring that unscheduled work orders are addressed in a timely manner.
- Provide support to operations to ensure downtime is minimized.
- Fulfill various roles and responsibilities related to compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient and cost effective operation, making sure that operating costs are consistent with budgetary constraints.
- Support and work with outside groups such as process engineering, project engineering, and the Operations Excellence team on safety, optimization, and expansion initiatives.
- Represent the maintenance group in various meetings, pre-planning on projects, design revie, and PSSR.
- Prepare operating budget on an annual basis, and monitor budgetary performance throughout the year and report to the Operations Manager.
Education
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Strong communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to KM’s insurance requirements
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from manager, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow Company Procedure
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record to be insurable by the Company insurance carrier
- Subject to license or certification requirements or training as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies or the Company
- Ability to plan, organize, document, prioritize and complete work efficiently
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and perform multiple tasks on a daily basis
- Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English
- Strong commitment to safety
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals)
- Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems and other company software)
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory and Company tariff requirements
- Demonstrate performance and leadership toward operational excellence
- Must have good attention to detail
- Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by local, state, or federal agencies and/or Company Policy
- Must be able to frequently climb in and out of trenches, and climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 50 pounds from floor to waist
- Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells, carry up to 50 pounds and to see, hear, walk and talk effectively
- Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Field vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which can be flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances
- Must maintain a good driving record within company insurability requirements.
- Prior supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of electrical motors, VFD controls
- Knowledge of Instrumentation, controls and gas analyzers
- Knowledge of Amine and Dehydration Treating Plants
- Knowledge of Diesel Powered generators
- Knowledge of Gas Fired Heaters
- Knowledge of PD/centrifugal/other types of pumps
- Knowledge of absorption vessels and exchangers
- Knowledge of emissions integrity and testing
- Knowledge of MAXIMO integrity management software usage
- Preference may be given to candidates with college degrees, especially a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or similar programs.
