0.75 FTE of this position will support the La Crosse and Sparta Trauma programs, the remaining 0.25 FTE will support Trauma programs in Barron, Bloomer, Osseo and Menomonie. Travel to all sites is required.
For the function of the trauma program, the Trauma Coordinator is responsible to the Trauma Medical Director, and works collaboratively with physicians, operations, and nursing leadership for management of the trauma program. This position is accountable for understanding and maintaining quality standards in accordance with regulatory and certifying bodies. This role partners with the trauma leadership team to provide direction for strategic goals of the program. This role is responsible for the program development, organization, and implementation of the trauma program and any other assigned clinical activities. The trauma program manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the care of acute trauma patients across the care continuum which include coordination of multidisciplinary care team, development of standardized patient teaching materials, and analysis of educational needs of trauma patients and implementing individualized teaching plan with patients and families. The trauma program manager collaborates with the Trauma Program Medical Director, medical staff, and nursing leadership on development and promotion of trauma standards of care, implementation of policies, and forms throughout the continuum of care. Additionally, this role is responsible to ensure the program and trauma registry is up to date and meets current national guidelines for management of trauma patients. Acts as expert resource on current research and nationally recognized guidelines in care of the trauma patient.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, BLS, three years experience in acute care, basic computer skills: email, word, excel, power point, and teams.
Experience working with Regulatory, performance improvement and project management principles. Able to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. Highly motivated, flexible, creative, and self-directed individual.
License/certification: Current RN license by applicable state requirements. This RN job may require a RN license in multiple states. Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
