Camp Skylark is looking for a seasonal camp director to lead local day camps for elementary school aged children. This position is from March-August.
The Mission of Lionheart/Skylark is to see the lives of children and families transformed by the Gospel through Christ-centered Childcare and summer camps, in partnership with the local church.
This summer's camp locations are:
The Camp Director serves as a ministerial role during the camp season, helping to accomplish the mission and vision of Skylark through evangelism, discipleship, and shepherding. While this role carries leadership responsibilities, it is seasonal in nature—focused on the unique ministry opportunities that arise during the summer months of camp.

- Cottonwood Creek Church: 1015 Sam Rayburn Tollway, Allen, TX 75013
- The Heights Church: 201 W. Renner Road, Richardson, TX 75080
- Church at the Creek: 8001 County Road 125, McKinney, TX 75071
The Camp Director serves as a ministerial role during the camp season, helping to accomplish the mission and vision of Skylark through evangelism, discipleship, and shepherding. Objectives Of This Role
- Operate summer camp with excellence according to Skylark standards in “The Compass”
- Support the Area Director in hiring summer staff
- Onboard and train summer staff, including creating and leading summer staff orientation
- Disciple summer staff during the camp season
- Invest in campers and their families
- Build and maintain relationships with church partner staff and participate in intentional church partner initiatives
- Leading and Managing Camp
- Implement 11 weeks of spiritually deep, actively engaging, fun, developmentally appropriate programming for campers
- Lead in faithfully working toward camp spiritual goals
- Engage with parents and campers through the summer to ensure a positive experience
- Lead and supervise 20 - 40 summer staff
- Ensure child and staff safety throughout camp
- Maintain alignment with camp budgets
- Staff Hiring, Training, and Onboarding
- Support the Area Director in hiring summer staff
- Manage candidates through each stage of the pipeline through excellent communication and administration
- Onboard and train summer staff, including creating and leading summer staff orientation
- Spiritually develop and disciple staff
- Partnering with the Local Church & Community
- Build and maintain relationships with church partner staff and participate in intentional church partner initiatives
- Participate in ongoing coordination and dialogue with church partners on logistics, storage, spiritual goals, recruiting, enrollment, and camper financial aid
- Regularly attend Sunday mornings during the months camp is operating for ongoing partnership with the church body and campers alike
- Developing Personally
- Grow personally both in spiritual maturity and professional development
- Maintain project deadlines through meeting goals and objectives within specified timeframes
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Required: Two or more years in Christian camping or youth ministry management/leadership
- Preferred: Experience in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and management
- Proactive self-starter, able to maintain timelines for project completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knack for building strong relationships and healthy culture
- Ability to manage a team efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work on-site at the partner church
