Schedule: Monday - Friday, 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM (3x12 Hour Shifts)

Hours per Week: 36

The RN Emergency Room provides professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, managing acute and critical patient situations, and collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care delivery.

• Implement, monitor, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and response to care interventions.

• Serve as a primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.

• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately and promptly.

• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.

• Respond effectively to emergency situations using advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking.

• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.

• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in an Emergency Room or acute care setting.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).

• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island (or compact state eligibility).

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Preferred

• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills.

• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Proficiency in triage and emergency interventions.

• Knowledge of current ER best practices, procedures, and equipment.

• Pay Rate: $72.07 per hour (Contract, Pay-as-you-go)

• Hospital-based Emergency Department setting.

• Fast-paced and high-acuity environment.

• May require standing for extended periods and handling critical situations.

• Must comply with all hospital, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
