What Does Steel Dynamics Do?
Steel Dynamics is a leading industrial metals solutions company that produces lower-carbon, high-quality steel products primarily from recycled scrap. Operating through a circular manufacturing model, the company manufactures a wide range of steel products including flat roll, structural, and long products for industries such as construction, automotive, energy, and manufacturing. In addition to steel production, Steel Dynamics operates metals recycling facilities, steel fabrication plants, and aluminum production operations, serving customers across North America with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
What Makes This Internship Different?
The Nursing Internship at Steel Dynamics is unique because it offers interns the opportunity to build lasting relationships with employees rather than only seeing patients once in a clinical setting. Unlike many traditional nursing positions, occupational health nurses at SDI interact with the same employees on a regular basis, allowing them to understand individual health needs, track progress over time, and provide consistent support. This ongoing connection not only strengthens clinical skills but also helps interns see the direct impact of their care in fostering long-term employee wellness and safety.
Internship Location
This internship is located at the Steel Dynamics Corporate office in Fort Wayne, IN. This internship will take place during summer 2026 term.
