AAP's website, https://advanced.jhu.edu/, provides additional information. *Position Description:* We are seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach an asynchronous online course on Heritage Risk Management and Security for the Cultural Heritage Management MA program. The ideal candidate will have a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field. Prior to teaching the course in Summer 2026, the candidate will co-teach with an existing faculty mentor in the spring of 2026 to gain familiarity with the program's learning outcomes, students, and course management system. After this mentorship period, the candidate will assume full responsibility for teaching the course in the summer of 2026.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a robust background in risk management, security studies, or related fields, with demonstrated experience in cultural heritage protection or disaster mitigation strategies. They should be enthusiastic about fostering collaborative discussions and preparing students to contribute meaningfully to the future of global heritage preservation. A master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline is required, along with a commitment to inclusive education and student engagement.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

- At least three years of professional work experience in heritage management or disaster mitigation.
- A terminal degree in a relevant field
- 1-3 years of graduate-level teaching experience
- Five years of professional work experience in heritage management or disaster mitigation
- Strong interest in advising graduate students interested in a cereer in the heritage sector
- A cover letter highlighting your experience working in heritage risk management, as well as describing your approach to teaching
- Curriculum vitae
- Teaching evaluations for the two most recently taught courses, if available
- Transcript from highest degree earned
- The selected candidate will undergo a background check and provide three references
