We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Armed Incident Commander with high integrity and professionalism to join our team. You will be working on unique projects under the guidance of the Shift Supervisors and Area Managers.
In your day-to-day role as an Armed Incident Commander, you will be acting as a liaison between Surefox and its clients while providing deterrence and emergency response. You will perform all duties in accordance with client policies and procedures and all state & federal regulations. Other responsibilities include medical & non-medical response, staffing, and handling client requests in a timely manner. Under certain circumstances, an Incident Commander will be expected to initiate preliminary investigations by writing incident reports on all internal client and company issues.
We are looking for someone who has exceptional observational skills and pays close attention to detail. While we encourage veterans and candidates that are currently in the military reserve to apply, we welcome all who share the same passions for protection as we do. What You Will Do

What You Will Do
- The Armed Incident Commander position maintains a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our clients and their guests by monitoring the areas of responsibility specified by our clients.
- Armed Incident Commanders maintain order while enforcing regulations, directives, and policies. They will provide the highest level of customer service and information to a client's employees, customers, guests, and vendors while serving as a physical deterrent.
- Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and have the ability to influence informally across different departments within the team.
- Track and report on program performance and compliance requirements within the provided guidelines.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot while monitoring access.
- Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations on-site.
- Contact the police or fire department if and when there is an emergency. Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property.
- Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Provide assistance to employees and create a safe and friendly environment for visitors and clients in a professional manner.
- Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes.
- Work independently and adapt to various work paces while always maintaining a high-level of attentiveness and energy.
- Engage courteously with employees, guests, and visitors, offering assistance and information while maintaining security protocols.
- Handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism, using de-escalation techniques when addressing concerns, complaints, or disruptive behavior.
- Must be eligible for employment within the United States.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old per state licensing guidelines.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening (5 Panel). A national "criminal" background check, sex offender check, and national government watch list check will be performed (Surefox will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all requirements of State and local laws, regulations or codes).
- Must live within driving distance or be willing to relocate.
- Must have a current (V)- Department of Criminal Justice (DCJS) guard card or be eligible to qualify for a guard card.
- Must have a current (V)- Department of Criminal Justice (DCJS) Armed Guard Card or be eligible to qualify for prior to working on site.
- Well maintained firearm (must be the same caliber listed on the permit)
- Glock 17 or 19 preferred.
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- All applicants must be able to pass the Surefox Physical Agility Test (SPAT), with or without reasonable accommodation, prior to the scheduled start date. Please be aware that passing the SPAT is a requirement for this position.
- The SPAT is a timed sequence of multiple physical events requiring you to progress along a predetermined path from event to event in a continuous manner until complete.
- Experience handling customer or client interactions in environments that require discretion, poise, and service awareness.
- Proof of negative TB test (PPD with results, chest x-ray, or questionnaire/letter as applicable).
- Proof of annual Influenza vaccination (or documentation if expired).
- Proof of Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) vaccination (two doses or blood titer test).
- Proof of Varicella vaccination (two doses or blood titer test).
- Acknowledgement of the following Client Policies: Vendor Policy CS416, Non-Patient Care Contact, Client Vendor Guidelines, client Communicable Disease Form.
- Acknowledgement of the following client Policies: Vendor Policy CS416, Potential and Direct Patient Care Contact, client Vendor Guidelines, client Communicable Disease Form.
- Acknowledgement of the following Client Policies: Basics of HAI, Behaviors that Undermine a Culture of Patient Safety Policy, EXCEL Commitment Letter, HIPAA Privacy Training, OR Fire Safety Training, Practitioner Health Policy, Tobacco Policy.
- Acknowledgement and/or training on Product & Services as required.
- Acknowledgement of Client Policy: HS100 – Acquisition of Supplies, Capital Equipment, Medical Equipment Leases, Medical Equipment Rentals, Medical Equipment Service Contracts, and Purchased Service Contracts.
- Acknowledgement of the following Client Policies: Contractor Guidelines, Off-Site, Emergency Codes.
- Security or law enforcement related experience preferred
- Prior experience in hospitality, healthcare, or high-touch customer service roles is highly preferred.
- Training or certification in conflict resolution, customer service, or trauma-informed response is a plus.
- Military background is a plus.
- Report writing experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Training is preferred.
