Position Overview

Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Quality Control (CQC) Technician to support a major microgrid construction project at MOTCO in Concord, CA.

This role is hands-on, technical, and field-focused, responsible for monitoring electrical quality activities and ensuring compliance with company and U.S. Government standards.

You will participate in design and construction phases, conduct inspections, review documentation, and ensure the work aligns with plans, specifications, submittals, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control Leadership

  • Implement and manage the Electrical Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Conduct design reviews, pre-mobilization meetings, and preparatory phase inspections.
  • Establish and document quality risks and mitigation plans.
  • Review subcontractor proposals for scope accuracy.

Construction Phase Support

  • Perform field inspections of electrical systems and features of work.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and approved submittals.
  • Support and execute the USACE Three-Phase Inspection Program.
  • Review QC documentation, daily reports, and QA/QC records.
  • Identify and escalate potential quality or liability issues.

Technical & Administrative Duties

  • Use RMS, Procore, and other project management platforms.
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Interface with USACE, Government QA/QC personnel, and testing agencies.
  • Support daily QC coordination with the Project QCM.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering + 2 years relevant experience OR
  • 5 years field experience supervising electrical features of work.
  • Minimum 5 years in construction with QC responsibilities.
  • At least 2 years on U.S. Government projects.
  • Minimum 2 years on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
  • Strong experience preparing government submittal documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with USACE RMS.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and reports.
  • Strong inspection, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience conducting meetings and coordinating with field personnel.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) proficiency.
  • Ability to work onsite daily and support virtual coordination as needed.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong follow-up ability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military experience (Veterans strongly encouraged to apply).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

Certifications & Clearances

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.
  • Valid driver's license (required throughout the contract).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Completion of:
    • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) course
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course
