Description

As Director of Business Development, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, specifically in warehousing and related value-added services. This individual contributor role is focused on expanding our 3PL footprint by targeting clients in need of solutions such as manufacturing support, warehousing, foreign trade zones, battery storage, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with potential clients, converting leads into long-term partnerships, and achieving ambitious sales targets. Reporting to the VP of Business Development, the ideal candidate will bring a strong background in selling warehousing services and a deep understanding of operational requirements and customer needs within this space.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify and research potential clients and markets
  • Generate leads through various channels such as cold calling, email outreach, networking events, and social media platforms
  • Utilize sales and marketing tools to identify and qualify prospects
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospects, key decision-makers, and stakeholders
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the company's offerings
  • Understand clients' needs, challenges, and objectives to propose tailored solutions
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets and maximize revenue
  • Manage sales pipelines efficiently, from lead generation to closure
  • Track and report on sales metrics, activities, and outcomes using CRM systems
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
  • Overcome objections and address concerns to facilitate deal closure
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery processes
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities
  • Provide feedback to the marketing and product teams to refine offerings and improve market positioning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications & Skills Needed

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
  • Proven record of accomplishments and success in 3PL sales, business development, or a related role focusing on large Enterprise accounts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong networking abilities and relationship-building skills
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a drive to exceed targets and deliver results
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales
