Job Summary

The Supervisor II, Field Service Logistics, is responsible for directing the work of the employees and the daily operations of the Field Service Logistics Department. This includes ensuring that work is assigned efficiently and that priorities are recognized and addressed promptly. The Supervisor II is also responsible for assessing employee performance, providing feedback for employee development, and holding employees accountable for professional work and behaviors.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Direct the work of the Field Service Logistics Operators to ensure that work is assigned efficiently, priorities are properly addressed, and resources are utilized effectively.
  • Conduct and document performance assessments of all employees and review these results with employees to aid in their development.
  • Continually coach and train employees to improve their knowledge and performance.
  • Hold employees accountable for work and/or behaviors that do not meet expectations.
  • Provide input to departmental leadership regarding hiring, employee performance, and emerging issues that may require corrective action.
  • Support the Senior Supervisor in maintaining staff required in Field Service Logistics to support work requirements across various situations or events. This includes staffing for changes in workload, system emergencies, employee training events, employee off days, etc.
  • Assist in developing training programs and training material to be used by department personnel.
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure we effectively meet their needs.
  • Provide guidance to others in planning and assigning all types of work for all types of resources at EPB for maximum total operational efficiency.
  • Determine when additional resources are required or when resources at work should be sent home based on current, scheduled, or anticipated workload.
  • Coordinate various work activities to reduce operations, thus reducing risk to the electric and communications systems.
  • Contact customers to schedule or coordinate work as needed.
  • Help to resolve customer issues; negotiate with customers as needed.
  • Plan staffing in advance to ensure work order commitments are met while maintaining productivity measures.
  • Work all shifts as needed to sustain a 24/7/365 operation; overtime work is required.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree in Industrial Technology or Logistics is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a logistics supervisory position is preferred.
  • Capable of planning and assigning all types of work for all types of resources at EPB for maximum total operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in all EPB business system applications used to plan, assign, execute, and monitor work. These systems include Pragma CAD (mobile workforce management), EnQuesta, Omnia, OMS, G Tech, GT Viewer, network tools such as VNC-Viewer (for resolution of field user problems), and any other applications used in daily operations.
  • Knowledge of basic office systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience with electric and communication system operations and processes are preferred.

Certifications & Other Requirements

  • Ability to write, read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to complete required reports, written and on the computer.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data (sometimes ambiguous), establish facts, be decisive, and make complicated decisions and conclusions. Must be able to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documentation related to meter installation and Meter Reading. Must be able to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from management, field personnel, customers, and the public clearly and concisely.

May perform other duties as assigned.

EPB provides electric and communications services, which are considered critical infrastructure by the Department of Homeland Security. This EPB job is essential to support this critical infrastructure and may be required to work onsite or in the field to maintain these services.
