Job Description

As a BI Developer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience building modern business intelligence solutions that drive strategic decisions. You will collaborate with BI Developers and Engineers to design dashboards, optimize data models, and implement ETL processes using cutting-edge tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. This internship provides practical exposure to BI methodologies, cloud technologies, data preparation, and governance, as you prepare you for a career in data engineering, modern business intelligence, or BI architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Modeling and ETL Development
• Assist in designing and maintaining data models for reporting and analytics
• Support ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources
• Dashboard and Report Development
• Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
• Ensure visualizations are optimized for clarity and actionable insights
• Performance Optimization
• Collaborate on improving query performance and data refresh processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues
• Automation and Integration
• Explore automation opportunities for recurring reporting tasks
• Integrate BI solutions with enterprise systems and APIs
• Continuous Learning
• Work directly with BI Developers and Engineers to gain practical experience
• Learn best practices in BI, cloud technologies, and data engineering workflows
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Oracle Cloud
• Familiarity with Power BI, DAX, T-SQL, and basic ETL concepts; exposure to scripting languages (Python or R) is a plus
• Understanding of relational databases and data modeling principles
• Strong problem-solving and technical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Internship Requirement

Deliver a capstone presentation at the end of summer showcasing BI solutions developed during the internship, key learnings, and insights on BI trends and evolution

Compensation Range

$13.00 - $30.00

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
