Our laser-based analyzer systems perform high-performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.

What is the role about?
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Test Engineer is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, which is responsible for the development, improvement, and support of the manufacturing process for optical-based gas analytical equipment. The Manufacturing Test Engineer is specifically focused on calibration and test processes through activities such as:
- Process improvement and development
- Technical support and training of production personnel
- Test station design and automation
- Continuous process improvement and development.
- Use tools from LEAN, Six Sigma, etc. to identify waste and improve safety, yield, throughput, measurement uncertainty and costs in test and calibration operations.
- Transfer designs and applications from R&D into production. Taking slow, manual calibration and test methods and translating these into high-speed, simple and exact processes for production personnel to execute. Will work cross-functionally with other groups to determine and establish acceptable production specifications.
- Provide floor support for test technicians and existing test setups.
- Work with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Production to identify the root causes of problems and implement appropriate solutions to prevent recurrence.
What qualifications are needed?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent related education with direct work experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing test engineering with a demonstrated record of achievement in process improvement projects.
- Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Software experience, including extensive experience in programming for test automation; emphasis is placed on experience, not the specific language.
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing, including Kaizen and 5S.
- Safety mindset to follow and develop procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Strong communication skills to interface with engineers, production operators and management.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and organizational skills to set and manage priorities.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with MS Office.
- Electronics knowledge, including O-scope, Meter, D/A, A/D, RS-232, Ethernet, Imbedded Firmware, Imbedded Electronics including some analog and digital.
- Ability to design and construct test fixtures from scratch.
- Experience working with compressed gases (flammable, inert, toxic).
- Gas phase spectroscopy experience.
- Experience with optical systems including lenses, windows, mirrors, alignments and coatings.
