Job Description

To help the Church accomplish its religious mission, all employees must hold a current temple recommend (if endowed) or be temple worthy as indicated by a certification from an ecclesiastical leader (if not endowed). Employees are expected to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and Church leaders and live the principles of honesty, integrity, and morality. Where applicable, employees work with, support, and counsel with ecclesiastical leaders to support their needs. Employees serve as role models for members by fulfilling the Church's work with divine guidance. They demonstrate a spirit of religious compassion toward others and an attitude of devotion to God. Regular attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location are required to accomplish the work of furthering the mission of the Church.

The storehouse manager will follow Welfare and Self-Reliance Services (WSRS) policies under the direction of the Production and Distribution director and the Bishops’ Storehouses and Home Storage Centers manager to accomplish the work in their assigned location. They lead in managing and distributing essential food and household products provided to those in need. These products help recipients with their temporal needs as they strive for economic and emotional self-reliance. They also facilitate opportunities for service and giving by missionaries and volunteers. In some instances, they will lead in preparing loads of food and products for other humanitarian organizations and initiatives. They may also lead in preparing loads to be shipped to those in need during times of disaster and humanitarian aid to alleviate suffering. They will assist in training full-time, service and senior missionaries, and local leaders. They will also assist the Area and local WSRS managers (WSRM) in training local leaders and guiding tours through WSRS facilities and operations. They report to the regional field manager and work with agent stake presidents and participate in Agent Stake Operating Councils.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee operations of a top-tier bishops’ storehouse(s) and home storage center(s), including inventory, order processing, and vendor management.
    • Train and support employees, missionaries, volunteers, and local church leaders in system operations, including BOS, POS, D365, and other relevant tools.
    • Optimize perishable and non-perishable inventory management to ensure timely fulfillment of storehouse orders.
    • Coordinate with all groups (e.g., other Welfare divisions, service missionary advisors, VIP Services, etc.) to maintain the optimal level of staffing for the operation.
    • Ensure efficient handling of humanitarian orders, disaster response shipments, and community service organization (CSO) requests.
    • Conduct compliance reviews (operational, inventory, safety, ICE, etc.)
    • Maintain a safe working environment, oversee facility management, and direct building maintenance and custodial tasks.
    • Provide tours as required and act as an ambassador for the Church at all times.
    • Coordinate with agent stake presidents and ASOC committees.
    • Oversee safety plans, financial reviews, and facility improvement initiatives.
    • Offer direct support to the regional field manager, missionaries, and church leaders while preparing for future advancements within the organization.
Qualifications

Required

  • BS/BA in business, operations management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of storehouse/warehouse management experience or a related field
  • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Welfare principles and Church leadership roles and responsibilities
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in inventory management software
  • Experience training and motivating others
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and train diverse groups
  • Physically capable of: standing and moving for extended periods; lifting at least 40 lbs.; operating a forklift; driving a delivery truck; and, other physically demanding tasks as required
  • Willingness to work a minimum of one Saturday every month.
  • Willingness to relocate
