Philo Development is a premier land development firm based in Lehi, Utah, specializing in ground-up land development, renovation projects, and hospitality improvements. We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Construction to lead the construction efforts for our land development team.
Position Overview
The Director of Construction will be responsible for overseeing the construction of all Philo Development projects. This includes both land development projects with underground and surface improvements, as well as renovation and hospitality projects. The role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a deep understanding of land development, construction processes, and project management. The Director will work closely with project engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee the construction of Philo’s land development projects, ensuring they are completed per plans and specifications.
Owner's Representative: Act as the day-to-day point of contact for ongoing projects, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of issues.
Budget Management: Own and manage construction budgets for all Philo projects, including reviewing contracts, pay requests, and setting construction budgets.
Schedule Management: Drive and manage project schedules to ensure timely delivery of all projects.
Collaboration: Work closely with the design team, project engineers, and architects on new project ideas and improvements.
Coordination: Coordinate with contractors in the field, ensuring construction activities align with plans and schedules.
Regulatory Knowledge: Ensure projects are in compliance with entitlements, zoning, permitting, municipal utilities, and private utilities.
Policy & Systems Management: Successfully manage policy and systems implementation to meet organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in construction management or a related field (15 years preferred).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
Skills:
Strong understanding of land development, architectural and civil engineering plans.
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
High sense of urgency and ability to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
Additional Knowledge:
Familiarity with real estate transactions, local politics, and municipal processes.
Expertise in managing construction budgets, contracts, and pay requests.
Compensation:
Salary: DOE, with a range of $90,000 to $130,000
