Position Overview:
Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt is seeking a full-time, Legal Assistant in our Portland office. Schwabe has a hybrid work policy allowing employees to work from home Monday and Friday while working in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
The Legal Assistant is responsible for delivering high-level legal and administrative support to lawyers in the litigation practice area (including Appellate, Commercial & Business, Financial Institutions and Product Liability) by performing the following duties.

The Legal Assistant is responsible for delivering high-level legal and administrative support to lawyers in the litigation practice area (including Appellate, Commercial & Business, Financial Institutions and Product Liability) by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level legal administrative support to lawyers and paralegals, with a strong focus on document editing, formatting, and proofreading to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with court and firm standards.
- File court-compliant documents electronically in state courts, federal courts, and appellate courts.
- Verify legal citations and references using proper citation tools and techniques for filings and legal correspondence.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic files, and assist with file management and matter opening and closing procedures in accordance with firm policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all communications and documentation.
- 5+ years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be used to satisfy these requirements.
- Strong litigation knowledge and experience.
- Experience with e-filing in Oregon and Washington state, federal, and appellate courts.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
