Position Summary

The Medical Physicist will support the Oncology department by providing specialized expertise in diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy planning, radiation equipment management, and patient safety. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate treatment planning, high-quality radiotherapy services, and safe, compliant operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong clinical experience, advanced technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams.


Key Responsibilities

• Plan and ensure accurate and safe radiation treatments for patients

• Analyze diagnostic images and patient data to support clinical decision-making

• Work directly with patients to explain radiation therapy processes and treatment plans

• Develop, design, or procure medical equipment used for imaging and radiation services

• Ensure all radiation equipment is calibrated, compliant, and safely operated

• Provide expert guidance on radiation protection and safety standards

• Train and mentor healthcare, technical, and scientific staff in radiation-related protocols

• Manage and maintain radiotherapy quality assurance (QA) programs

• Participate in research, teaching, and process improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with oncology, radiology, and medical staff to support patient care excellence


Required Qualifications

• Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)

• Hands-on experience with:

- EPIC

- ARIA RadOnc

- CTC-RadOnc shared drives and workflows

• Strong background in oncology physics, radiation therapy, and treatment planning

• Experience in medical imaging, QA, and radiation equipment safety

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to work onsite full time during extended day shifts
