Information Technology department at Acadian Ambulance has an immediate opening for a Dispatch Analyst.
The Dispatch Analyst I is an entry-level, hands-on role focused on operating system, endpoint, and platform support for the organization’s Computer‑Aided Dispatch (CAD) environment. The selected candidate will monitor and maintain Windows servers and dispatch workstations, apply patches under change control, perform limited and audited Active Directory tasks within a delegated scope, triage incidents, and document procedures.
The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Dispatch Systems Administrator, application owners, and the Infrastructure/Network/AD teams. This role does not manage compute, storage, or virtualization platforms; those are owned by other teams. As skills develop, this position serves as a feeder path to the Senior Dispatch Administrator role.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitor CAD servers and dispatch consoles, perform routine health checks, open and update tickets, and escalate issues according to runbooks.
- Apply OS and application patches within approved maintenance windows; follow pre- and post-checks, and rollback steps; document all changes.
- Perform very limited, delegated AD tasks for CAD (e.g., CAD OU computer lifecycle, CAD‑scoped GPO linking, CAD group membership updates, CAD DNS record updates) using Just-In-Time access where required; no domain‑wide administration.
- Configure and support host‑level networking (IP/DNS/Windows Firewall); assist with packet captures and provide evidence to the Network team.
- Execute routine backup verification checks and basic file/system‑state restore tests at the OS layer; escalate broader DR tasks to the Data/Infrastructure team.
- Assist CAD application administrators with OS prerequisites, services, scheduled tasks, and log collection.
- Maintain accurate documentation (SOPs, checklists, change notes, inventory, and diagrams) and keep knowledge base articles current.
- Provide courteous, timely support to Communications Center staff; collect diagnostics; communicate status and next steps clearly.
- Support the legacy CAD platform under supervision and assist with phased activities to transition to the new CAD environment.
- Identify low-risk automation opportunities and draft simple PowerShell scripts for peer review.
- On‑call rotation and after‑hours maintenance; occasional travel to data centers and Communications Centers.
- Demonstrated interest in Windows systems administration and troubleshooting (labs, coursework, internships, or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of Windows 11/Windows Server concepts,
- Customer service mindset: clear written and verbal communication, accurate note‑taking and documentation.
- Ability to follow runbooks precisely, ask for help early, and learn quickly.
- Willingness and ability to complete the listed training and certification plan on schedule.
- Active Directory fundamentals in a delegated model, and core TCP/IP networking knowledge.
- Exposure to PowerShell, Wireshark, ticketing systems, or any 24/7 operations environment.
- Prior help desk, desktop support, or system administration experience.
- Complete (A) Knowledge Centered Support Foundation (KCSF) & (B) HDI's Desktop Advanced Support Technician (HDI-DAST) certifications.
- Complete Bulletproof Problem Solving, and associated quizzes
