Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering principles and a proven track record of working on engineering projects from concept to completion.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs for manufacturing.
  • Perform engineering calculations to validate designs (stress, tolerance, materials, thermal, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions or design improvements.
  • Ensure designs comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the product development cycle.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to evaluate components, materials, and manufacturability.
  • Update and maintain documentation, models, and design files throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in plastic injection molding and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to work in a lab, manufacturing, or office environment.
  • May require lifting of components and tools up to 25 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for on-site support in Ensenada, Mexico.
