Description

The production graphic designer’s purpose is to creatively develop marketing and advertising materials. Resize digital and print artwork into numerous aspect ratios from Graphic Designer II, Video Production and Motion Graphic Manager, and Art Director (Flinch Creative) in a fast-paced environment. Produce drafts for review by stakeholders and make revisions based on the feedback received. Review final productions for errors and ensure that final prints are accurate and on-brand. Great communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are required.

Essential Functions

Production Graphic Design:

  • Resize digital and print artwork into numerous aspect ratios from Graphic Designer II, Video Production and Motion Graphic Manager, and Art Director (Flinch Creative).
  • Take artwork and create individualized sales material for departments, i.e., mortgage, commercial, consumer loans, etc.
  • Assist in designing advertisements in both print and digital format by providing rough layouts to hand off to the Graphic Designer II or finishing art projects/changes.
  • Design collateral using Adobe Creative Cloud programs, i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more.
  • Provides image retouching, clipping paths, and additional image manipulation needs.
  • Ensure all artwork is error-free, on-brand, and the text and image maintain readability.
  • Manage file organization and maintain proper file naming conventions, storage, and archiving processes.

Accuracy And Compliance

  • Safeguard UCCU’s data as the top priority and in every aspect of the marketing process.
  • Help ensure UCCU’s brand is consistent in all UCCU collateral.
  • Obtain proper approvals for copy, design, and compliance (disclosures) prior to publishing any content.

Other Duties As Assigned

  • Assist the Marketing Office Assistant with asset management, large format printing, and cutting.
  • Participates as a team member in UCCU task forces as assigned.
  • Contribute to special projects, research, and analysis.
  • Provide general training to UCCU staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Works a regular and predictable schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good graphic design skills with the ability to design in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with acute attention to detail and file naming conventions.
  • Great knowledge of design concepts.
  • Good knowledge of print-ready file preparation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technological proficiency, i.e., project management software, Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and initiative.
  • Good stress management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent ability in the operation of a personal computer.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate high integrity.
  • Positive attitude and credit union “core values” are maintained.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk or moving and organizing marketing materials.

Education/Experience

  • Degree in Design or Fine Arts and/or related experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year graphic design experience.
