KITCHEN STAFF (PART-TIME) at T Bar M Camps

Position Overview: This part-time position is in the Kitchen Department. Kitchen Staff, under the leadership of the Kitchen Director, assist in the preparation, cooking, and cleanup of the meals at T Bar M Camps and Retreats in the spirit and attitude of T Bar M. They also assist in maintaining a clean kitchen and dining rooms.

Key Duties

Assist to Cook and prepare meals

  • Execute the preparation and cooking of the meal plan laid out by the Kitchen Director
    • Collaborate with the Kitchen Director and Kitchen Cooks to prepare meals
    • Measure out meal ingredients according to a recipe
    • Prep various ingredients such as meat and vegetables
    • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Assist to manage a kitchen that adheres strictly to rules regarding food safety
  • Assist to maintain a kitchen culture in accordance with the T Bar M Core Values
  • Consider dietary requirements
Clean kitchen and dining spaces

  • Clean up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensure the prep area and kitchen is cleaned and sanitized at the end of the shift
  • Clean up the dining room space after each meal
  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing

Assist in breakout spaces

  • Set up breakout spaces for groups
    • Brew coffee, tea or hot water for guests meeting spaces
    • Restock breakout spaces with cups, creamers, sugar, etc.
    • Deliver items to breakout spaces
  • Maintain the cleanliness of breakout spaces
Care for supplies and facilities of T Bar M

  • Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies in the kitchen and dining rooms
  • Notify superiors on any damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Check stocking levels of food, supplies, & chemicals and notify the kitchen director so they can be restocked
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding food safety

Participate in the ministry of T Bar M

  • Able to minister to guests and fellow staff, engaging with, speaking with, and serving them lovingly and unselfishly
  • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
  • May require additional duties as identified by housekeeping manager for property care
  • Assist in contributing to and helping achieve annual ministry goals set by leadership
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed

  • Education/Experiences
    • High School or equivalent
    • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Physical
    • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, grasp, lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
    • May require climbing ladders to clean ceilings, etc.
    • Work activities are both indoors and outdoors.
    • Work occurs throughout several different buildings on T Bar M property, so the ability to easily navigate the property, including uneven surfaces.
