We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team! The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing with day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices that comply with Federal, State, and local regulations. The ADON demonstrates knowledge of the patients' physical, social, emotional, and psychological needs based on the health care required. In addition, the ADON helps ensure adequate staffing patterns and that staff are qualified and trained.
ADON/IP is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare associated infections. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, ongoing surveillance, provides feedback, and sustains infection prevention strategies in accordance with CDC guidelines and facility policies. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards that relate to skilled nursing infection control practices.
Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance with regulatory standards that relate to skilled nursing infection control practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management and daily operations of the nursing department.
- Ensure that each patient’s needs are assessed and that a nursing treatment plan is developed.
- Provide nursing care following established nursing service objectives and standards.
- Ensure that the required documentation is complete and is compliant with regulations and standards.
- Lead the facility’s Infection and Prevention Control Committee. Develops action plans to address opportunities for improvement. Participates on the facility’s QAA Committee.
- Valid Texas Nurse License.
- Valid CPR Certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related healthcare program.
- Education, training, experience, or certification in infection control and prevention.
- Must possess knowledge of long-term care operational standards as set forth in the Federal Register, Conditions of Participation and State regulations.
