We are seeking a strategic and experienced Infrastructure/Virtualization Manager to lead our talented team of analysts and administrators. This role is responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and security of our core on-premise and hybrid cloud infrastructure, which includes VMware vSphere, Omnissa Horizon VDI, and Microsoft Azure hybrid services. This role will drive operational excellence, foster team growth, and ensure our critical systems are resilient, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute the technology roadmap for core infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware), VDI, servers (Windows/Linux), and hybrid cloud (Azure).
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, best practices, and documentation for the entire system lifecycle.
- Oversee ITIL-based service delivery, leading major incident response, problem management, and change control to minimize business impact and reduce MTTR.
- Manage the on-call rotation, escalation paths, and operational runbooks to ensure 24/7 service stability.
- Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization to ensure service availability and manage costs.
- Oversee the comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategy, validating RTO/RPO objectives through regular testing.
- Partner with Information Security to implement security baselines, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure timely patching across all infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements, maintaining the team's risk register.
- Develop and manage the annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets, including asset lifecycle planning and license management.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs, leading RFP, sourcing, and renewal processes for all infrastructure hardware and software.
- Champion a culture of automation (e.g., PowerShell) to reduce manual effort and improve system reliability.
- Define, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure health, team productivity, and project status to IT leadership.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years in a formal leadership, supervisory, or senior team lead capacity.
- Foundational Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge of enterprise virtualization platforms, specifically VMware vSphere. Proven experience managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, preferably VMware Horizon. Strong background in administering Windows Server and Linux operating systems in a hybrid environment.
- Cloud: Demonstrated experience with hybrid cloud models, particularly connecting on-premise infrastructure with Microsoft Azure.
- Automation: Proficiency with scripting for automation, especially using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Travel: Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license. This is a local position with some flexibility for hybrid work and may require occasional travel.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications: Professional-level certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, and ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience with disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault, Cohesity, VMware SRM, Zerto, or Microsoft Azure Site Recovery.
- Finance: Proven experience managing departmental budgets (CAPEX/OPEX) and vendor contracts.
- Storage: Technical experience with enterprise storage administration.
- System Availability (Uptime %), Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Change success rate and reduction in change-related incidents.
- Backup and DR test success rates; adherence to RTO/RPO objectives.
- Patching and vulnerability remediation compliance levels.
- Adherence to capacity and performance SLOs.
- Adherence to CAPEX/OPEX budgets and demonstrated savings from optimization efforts.
- Team engagement, skill development, and retention rates.
