"Technology Integration Lead - Chief Technology Officer" Overview:

The Technology Integration Lead (CTO integration) will serve as the senior technology advisor responsible for designing and implementing an end-to-end technology environment that enables scalable growth, operational consistency, and enhanced customer visibility across all phases of OWE’s solar business. This individual will bridge business strategy and technology execution, ensuring that OWE’s systems and tools are interconnected, data-driven, and aligned with future expansion goals as the company continues to scale its solar operations nationwide.

This is a new, full-time, temporary executive position based onsite in Phoenix, AZ. The engagement is initially structured for six months with the potential to extend based on project needs and performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated technology roadmap that supports OWE’s solar sales, operations, and project-delivery functions.
  • Design and implement an end-to-end technology ecosystem connecting CRM, ERP, finance, and field operations systems used throughout the solar installation process.
  • Evaluate and optimize existing systems for scalability, efficiency, and real-time project visibility.
  • Partner with leadership to identify automation opportunities that streamline workflows for solar project management, permitting, and customer engagement.
  • Lead vendor evaluations, system selections, and implementation timelines for platforms that enhance OWE’s operational efficiency.
  • Establish data governance, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure standards that support long-term scalability across solar markets.
  • Build standardized technology frameworks that enable OWE to operate efficiently in multiple regions, similar to a franchise or distributed business model, ensuring consistent customer experiences and operational excellence.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and technology recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership team.
  • Advise future technology staffing and structure to sustain digital growth within the solar industry.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership (Chief Technology Officer, Director of Technology, or Systems Integration Lead).
  • Proven success implementing CRM, ERP, or enterprise systems within high-growth, operationally complex industries (solar, construction, energy, or utilities preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to design scalable, data-driven technology architectures supporting distributed field or project-based teams.
  • Strong knowledge of workflow automation, financial system connectivity, and customer-facing technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and vendor management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Expected Deliverables

  • A 6–12 month technology roadmap outlining system integrations, timelines, and milestones.
  • Deployment of a unified CRM–ERP–Finance platform that delivers end-to-end visibility for sales, field operations, and customer satisfaction in the solar workflow.
  • Defined data architecture and integration plan to improve collaboration between sales, finance, and installation teams.
  • Recommendations for technology infrastructure and cybersecurity standards that support field and remote operations.
  • A scalable system framework that allows OWE to replicate its solar business operations and customer experience consistently across all markets.
