General Responsibilities

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of building maintenance services to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of facility systems. This role includes troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, and fire safety systems, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing repair requests as needed.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 5AM - 1:30PM
  • Monday - Friday, 3PM - 11:30PM

Pay Rate: $30 - $35/hour

Essential Functions

  • Conduct regular inspections and perform necessary adjustments and repairs on appliances.
  • Install, repair, and maintain locksmith systems to ensure security and functionality.
  • Perform comprehensive inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including lighting controls, energy management systems, and breaker boxes.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance on fire safety systems to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
  • Replace ceiling tiles, perform minor carpentry and painting tasks, handle plumbing issues, and conduct general facility repairs.
  • Document work orders and maintenance activities in the ticketing system.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and inspections on exterior roofs to maintain building integrity.
  • Address and resolve electrical issues, including lighting management and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) electrical troubleshooting.
  • Assist with filter changes, system inspections, and other HVAC maintenance tasks to support HVAC maintenance efforts.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure readiness for maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to client’s safety regulations, legal restrictions, and building codes.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down events.
  • Perform End of Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met at the end of each shift.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Open availability: Overtime work and schedule adjustments may be needed/necessary. Holiday work may also be required.

Physical Demands

  • The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • The maintenance technician will regularly use their hands to handle tools and operate equipment, and must occasionally work in cramped spaces or at heights.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Good hygiene skills are required.

Other Requirements

  • Must complete pre-employment background check (if applicable).
  • Must complete pre-employment drug screen (if applicable).
  • Must provide proof of work authorization and complete an I9 and E-Verify process.

Work Environment

This role operates in a commercial building setting and requires regular use of hand tools, power tools, and ladders. The technician will work in a variety of settings, including utility rooms, rooftops, and office spaces, and may be exposed to electrical hazards and other safety risks.

Required Education And Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Journeyman/Apprentice level candidates are preferred.
  • Commercial roofing experience preferred.
  • Commercial locksmith experience preferred.
