About The Role
The Essential Home Tax Department seeks a highly motivated and qualified tax professional to join the team. Reporting to the Head of Tax, NAC, this individual will manage a variety of North America tax projects, primarily related to both US and Canadian federal income tax matters in areas such as reporting and compliance.

US salary ranges
$110,000.00 - $166,000.00
US pay transparency
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year. About The Role
The Essential Home Tax Department seeks a highly motivated and qualified tax professional to join the team. Reporting to the Head of Tax, NAC, this individual will manage a variety of North America tax projects, primarily related to both US and Canadian federal income tax matters in areas such as reporting and compliance.
This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to broaden and develop their experience across multiple aspects of tax.
Your responsibilities
- Responsible for U.S. federal, Canadian, state, and local income tax matters, including quarterly and annual tax provision and forecasting
- Act as the primary liaison with external tax advisors for all compliance deliverables
- Review externally prepared tax returns and workpapers for technical accuracy and alignment with company positions
- Manage tax calendar, workflow, and governance to ensure timely filings across all jurisdictions
- Assist with documentation of transfer pricing transactions, including accuracy of legal entity results
- Prepare federal/state estimate and extensions calculations and manage all tax payments
- Data gathering to support federal, state, and indirect tax filings
- Manage indirect tax processes, including U.S. sales and use tax, with support from external advisors
- Assist with audits, tax credits and incentives, uncertain tax positions, transactions, tax technology, etc.
- Involvement in various ongoing tax projects
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or Master’s in Tax preferred.
- 5+ years of corporate tax experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate taxation; working understanding of indirect tax
- Experience reviewing federal, Canadian, state and local tax returns prepared by external advisors
- Solid understanding of tax accounting under IFRS (IAS 12)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Advanced proficiency with tax software and ERP system (e.g., Corptax, OneSource, SAP, HFM) a plus
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
