Perform functions as CAD Team Leader Design group. Lead person responsible for daily workflow in CAD group. This opening is for the CAD department.
Working Procedure
Interacting With Computers — Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, in addition to training in OS, SolidWorks Training including PDWorks, Basic SolidWorks CAD, SolidWorks Advanced Assemblies & SolidWorks Drawings, and database applications are required.
Experience Requirement: Must have a broad knowledge of shop facilities and manufacturing processes and the effect of design on costs. CAD experience is required, including a minimum of ten years working in a CAD environment.
In compliance with state and local laws, the salary range for this role is $71,537 to $112,516. The range provided is a general guideline and good faith estimate representative of all experience levels but is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. TCOM considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, a candidate’s experience, education/training, key skills, internal equity, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Working Procedure
Interacting With Computers — Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Use computer aided drafting (CAD) or design software for design, drafting, modeling, or other engineering tasks
- Use computer graphics design software
- Use computers to enter, access or retrieve data
- Use spreadsheet software
- Use word processing or desktop publishing software
- Draw prototypes, plans, or maps to scale
- Ensure efficient management of CAD software/hardware as it pertains to meeting daily workflow objectives
- Provide overall leadership for CAD group. Coach and counsel CAD personnel influencing their development
- Represent CAD at meetings and/or serve on committees in order to coordinate the design of the various components of any given project
- Ensure proper release procedures are followed within the CAD design team and coordinate with Configuration Management
- Responsible for ensuring that commitments are met on schedule
- Coordinate training requirements for CAD and engineering personnel
- Read schematics
- Read technical drawings
- Assist the Engineering Manager with analysis of CAD manpower for purposes of scheduling resources to meet program schedules and quotation estimates. Produce breakdowns of various levels of CAD man-hours needed for a given design project including the number of hours for preliminary design, final design, detail design, design checking
- Follow manufacturing methods or techniques
- Use drafting or mechanical drawing techniques
- Use government regulations
- Use knowledge of metric system
- Continually identify areas for improvement in processes, efficiency, etc.
- Confer with engineering, technical or manufacturing personnel
- Act as a communications link between CAD and various engineering personnel contributing to an overall project
- Provide key interface between the CAD designers and Configuration Management
- Assure the maintenance of archive files is properly performed per guidelines. Consult with cognizant design engineers and assist in daily coordination between engineers and CAD designers
