The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers and senior leadership through all phases of commercial construction projects — from preconstruction through closeout.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered with accuracy, timeliness, and integrity — hallmarks of Howard CDM’s reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
This position is ideal for someone eager to grow into a future leadership role while working hands-on with construction and development professionals.

How We Determine What We Pay
Howard CDM determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.

What You’ll Do
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and closeout activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and field staff.
- Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgets, and schedules.
- Prepare contracts, reports, and meeting documentation.
- Monitor quality, safety, and compliance on active projects.
- Learn Howard CDM’s management systems (Procore, Sage 300, Bluebeam).
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of commercial construction project coordination or management support.
- Experience or aptitude with:
- Procore
- Sage 300 CRE
- Bluebeam Revu
- Microsoft Excel & Project
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Salary: $91,500 – $101,500 (Depending on Experience)
