The Opportunity

Within Aeroflow, the Innovation Engineering (Special Projects) team is comprised of a highly skilled group of forward-thinking builders focused on solving the business’s most unique and impactful challenges. This team sits inside our broader 80+ engineer organization that includes internal/SQL, middleware, product, and platform teams.

The Innovation Engineering team focuses on:

  • Designing and delivering cutting-edge applications using Next.js, React, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, and infrastructure-as-code (sst.dev, Pulumi/Terraform).
  • Rapid experimentation, AI-driven solutions (LLMs, prompting, RAG/vector storage, model training), and mission-critical engineering accelerators.
  • Supporting internal engineering teams with scalable frameworks, modern architecture, and hands-on DevOps and CI/CD enablement.

We support internal product teams, business stakeholders, and engineering leadership, helping unlock automation, improve patient experiences, and increase operational efficiency across Aeroflow.

Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Hybrid Fullstack Software Engineer.

This role is responsible for developing highly performant fullstack applications while helping maintain and evolve the infrastructure that supports our engineering ecosystem.

In this role, you can expect to:

Design & Development

  • Architect, design, and build fullstack applications and microservices that are scalable, performant, and maintainable.
  • Develop modular, serverless microservices within a cloud-native environment.

Innovation & Collaboration

  • Participate in ideation and innovation sessions, contributing creative technical solutions that drive business value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, product owners, and engineers to deliver high-quality software.

Quality & Testing

  • Write clean, well-documented, testable code.
  • Build unit and integration tests; debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.

DevOps & Infrastructure

  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code using dev, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Terraform.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize deployed applications in high-volume production environments.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Share best practices, improve engineering standards, and mentor peers as needed.

  • Maintain HIPAA/patient confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years fullstack engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js. js experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience designing and building production-grade fullstack applications.
  • Deep understanding of microservices, especially in serverless AWS environments.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudFront.
  • Experience supporting and debugging systems in high-volume production.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, and general system/network administration.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (not required).

You Might Also Have

(These are not required, but would be strong differentiators.)

  • Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation experience (highly recommended for backend focus).
  • Fax technology, OCR, or document extraction experience.
  • RAG, vector databases, or model training experience.
  • Healthcare, DME, or insurance familiarity.
  • Snowflake data platform and data science methodologies.
